  12. I have uploaded a patch for NDW 2.0 to Wuarchive, path and filenames

  14. /pub/MSDOS_UPLOADS/compat.exe               (from Symantec, 514644 bytes)
  15. /pub/MSDOS_UPLOADS/compat.txt               (text file I typed)

  17. compat.exe is a compressed file I downloaded from Nortons BBS (one of their
  18. highest downloaded files) sometime in December, that contains a patch for your
  19. current installation of Norton Desktop for Windows 2.0. This patch can possibly
  20. fix some compatability problems between your computer and NDW (i.e. fixes some
  21. of the bugs).  This is a fairly extensive patch, since it modifies nearly
  22. every executable in the NDW directory, and fixed all of the problems I was 
  23. experiencing from NDW (NDW caused GPF's and would not even allow windows to
  24. boot, unless the line "shell=ndw.exe" was changed).

  26. I called Symantecs customer support on 1-21-93, and asked if there was any
  27. problem uploading this for others to have access, to which the stated there
  28. is no problem, except it may not work correctly with NDW versions overseas.
