- Oh well, perhaps I shouldn't have taken the manual to a Fax-modem I have
- which describes itself as a "Class I" modem, and that uses the RPI,
- on face value! I think its writers were just as confused as myself.

- On further reading of it I also note the line that states: "Rockwell
- has been making this software available to all communication software
- companies". What a shame they don't mention the "black box"
- methodology and cost of the software that you specify - but which might
- also explain why I haven't found more than one package that implements
- it!

- I assume that I am right about "Class 2" Fax-modems doing more
- "on-board" processing than in the "Class 1" case, however? (Which was
- the general gist of the reply to the original posting).
