- Greeting and salutations to everyone,
-
- I recently purchased a system for my brother. The system included:
-
- 386/40 MHZ
- 8 MB RAM
- 100 MB Hard drive
- Diamond Stealth 1 MB VRAM
-
- Software includes:
-
- Windows 3.1
- NDW 2.0
- WP5.1 for DOS and Windows (not sure which he wants yet)
- Excel 4.0
-
-
- Problem:
-
- I am running the system using Windows standard vga driver in 800 x 600 mode.
- Since we just obtained the Diamond Stealth I haven't configured it with the
- correct drivers, and my brother doesn't have the time, patience, or know-how.
-
- When I click on the DOS prompt icon, a DOS window comes up but no prompt is
- visible?! When I switch to full screen mode the problem goes away. But, I
- would like to operate DOS (and so would he) in a window. I have tried
- switching the font sizes in from 8 x 8 to several of the others, but to no
- avail.
-
- I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could give. Even if you have not
- stubled across this problem before, if you have a possible solution or remedy
- to correct this malady (problem) I would love to hear from you via e-mail.
-
- Again, thank you kindly in advance.
-
- Sincerely,
-
