- I have had a 3Com 3c503 ethernet card for a while, and it wasn't until
- I started using WinQVT/Net that I had problems. What happens is
- that often (the timing is chaotic, but about every ten minutes)
- communication freezes for a few seconds to as long as 2 or 3 minutes.
- Whatever I type in this time is sent to the host computer and eventually is
- echoed and/or acted on, but very very slowly. Then, it unfreezes and
- its back to normal.
-
- There is a strong correlation between the timing of these freezes and 1
- or 2 "Hardware buffer overflow" messages in the QVTNET console window.
- Does anyone know what's happening? What does that message mean? We have
- registered WinQVT/Net and the manual says nothing on this. By the way, the
- computer is a 486/33. Also, we have experimented by changing the mtu and
- window parameters in the qvtnet.ini. It didn't help.
