  14. I uploaded a new version of the windows program DIGITIZE to ftp.cica.indiana.edu
  15. to the /pub/pc/win3/uploads directory. The files are:

  28. This program does the reverse job of a plotting program (ungraphing), it can 
  29. read scanned X,Y plot and digitize it to end up with a text file containing
  30. the X,Y points.
  31.  
  32. This program is distributed as an evaluation shareware version, if you use
  33. it for more than 30 days you should register, otherwise remove the program
  34. from your computer.
  35. A registered user will receive a user code that will make the program fully 
  36. functional and will also receive newer versions as they become available.

  38. Program Features and Capabilities

  41. * Load bitmap pictures from a file or paste from the clipboard.
  42. * Define plot axis for any type of plot (linear, Semilog on X or Y, and log-log)
  43. * Digitize manually or automatically.

  45. * Auto tracer can digitize the curve with high accuracy.
  46. * The auto tracer can digitize multiple intersecting curve with the help of
  47.   simple blockers.

  50.   (only in scroll mode).
  51. * View and digitize the image in the scanned resolution, or stretch or reduce

  62. Limitation of the shareware version
  63. -----------------------------------
  64. The program is fully functional except the following:
  65.  
  66. * Only 10 digitized points are allowed.
  67. * The Copy X,Y function is disabled.

  69. Installation
  70. ------------
  71. This program is written in Visual Basic v2.0 which requires the VBRUN200.DLL
  72. to be placed in you windows directory. the VBRUN200.DLL is available in many BBS
  73. sites and in ftp.cica.indiana.edu (129.79.20.84) in the directory
  74. /pub/pc/win3/util. (it might be still in the upload directory when you read 
  75. this)

  77. 1. Make sure VBRUN200.DLL is in your /windows directory.

  79. 2. Create a directory and copy all files to that directory.
  80.  
  81. 3. You can now use the file manager to drag and drop the program icon into a 
  82.    group in the program manager.

  84. 4. Select the program icon (in the program manager) by clicking on it once,
  85.    select PROPERTIES from the FILE menu and make sure that the WORKING 
  86.    DIRECTORY
  87.    points to the directory where you installed DIGITIZE.

  89. ** NOTE ** users of version 1.15 and higher, it is recommended that you delete
  90. the old DIGITIZE.INI before you start the new version otherwise it will contain
  91. unused settings.

  95. Click twice on the digitize icon.
