A friend of mine with no Net access asked me about a problem with
Excel 4.0 to which I have no answer since i'm not a windows techie:
  Quite often when he tries to do a print preview of a multi-page
worksheet containing some diagrams, he gets an "out of memory"
message (it is German "Ungenugender Speicherplatz) when he wants
to look at another page. It is really annoying, because after the
first time he asked me I just told him to get more memory. He
now has 8 MB of RAM in a 386DX, 40Mhz, running windows 3.1 with
Excel as the sole application. System resources are usu 75% free
when the error occurs, there is also more than 12 MB free on disk.
  The thing that really gets me is that the d*mn error message
doesn't even say what kind of memory is affected, ie if disk, RAM or
system resources.
  Did anybody make the same sort of experiences with Excel? Are
there some settings to be adjusted (I know that on the macintosh
you can alter the size of a memory partition)?

Any kind of help is appreciated.
