- Hello,
- I would like to know which PostScript printer driver works the best. I want
- equations (Equation Editor or MathType) to print properly and I want high
- graphics quality. The graphics is mainly made in Designer or Charisma.
- Everything is then used in Word for Windows and printed from there.
-
- I have tried two different drivers, Microsoft v3.5 and Micrografx v2.6. With
- Microsoft v3.5 the equations are OK (of course I had to go through the ususal
- hack with the Fences and Extra fonts when installing Word for Windows), but
- the graphics quality is not good enough. Dotted lines are not actually
- dotted; they seem more like widely spaced dashed lines. With Micrografx
- driver v2.6, dotted lines are better (but not perfect). However, I can't get
- the equations right! They also look wrong on the screen. I have tried the
- install hack here too without being successful. Equation Editor and MathType
- keep telling me that there are missing fonts.
-
- Are there newer/better PostScript drivers that can handle the above problem?
- Also I think the pattern quality could be much better for both drivers. For
- example: 10% gray looks very good on the screen but is a dotted area when
- printed. I think my printer (QMS810) do print gray scales ;-).
-
- Windows v3.1
- Microsoft driver v3.5
- Micrografx driver v2.6
- Charisma v2.1
- Designer v3.1
- Word for Windows v2.0a
- MathType v1.1a
-
- Sincerely,
