- Since you use Freelance Graphics for DOS, you would probably find the
- newest version, FreeLance Graphics For Windows V2.0 easy to use. The only
- exception is the error bars -- they still haven't included a function to
- support that (not even Excel does).
-
- As for the word processor, there is no other word processing program that
- whould fit your needs better than Ami Pro 3.0. Since you're using Word,
- you have to import/export using the TIF bitmapped graphics format. Ami,
- which is also made by Lotus, will import/export Freelance .DRW files
- directly with the additional capability of modifying the graphs using its
- drawing tools. So you can import the .DRW file, and if you don't like the
- heading for a graph, just double click on it, the drawing tools pop up,
- and you just delete the old title and insert the new title (with any of
- the fonts you have in your system) -- there's no need to go back to
- DOS and back into FreeLance. Additionally, since the .DRW flies are vector
- based, you can freely resize the graphs and they will still come out
- sharp, not jagged edged as with TIFFs. As for other capabilities, Ami Pro 3
- compares favorably (actually even better, but I won't waste space for the
- hows) to other Windows word processors on the market.
