  12. I was wondering if I could get some help with the following problem.

  14. My system is a - 486-33 with 16 megs memory
  15.                - OS/2 2.0 with the Service Pack and
  16.                  using SIO & VSIO v026, X00 v149a as fossil
  17.                  for each node.
  18.                - Two nodes running RA v.1.11 using two
  19.                  internal 2400 baud modems on COM1 & COM2
  20.                  standard IRQ's and addresses.
  21.                - another node (not up) using an external 2400
  22.                  baud modem (will switch to my 14,400 when the
  23.                  node works <grimace>).  This third node is
  24.                  COM3, IRQ5.

  26. In the Config.sys is(SIO v1.31 and 1.34 triedwith same result):
  27. DEVICE=C:\OS2\SIO.SYS (1,3F8,4) (2,2F8,3) (3,2E8,5)
  28. DEVICE=C:\OS2\VSIO.SYS

  34. In each nodes batch files (X00 v1.49)
  35.  NODE 1: X00 E 1 B,0,2400
  36.  NODE 2: X00 E 1 B,1,2400
  37.  NODE 3: X00 2=2E8,5 B,2,2400 F=15 T=4096 R=4096

  39. I've also tried activating X00 via Dos Device in the boxes Dos settings.
  40. On the node that won't work the initialization string is:
  41. AT L0 H0 S0=0 X4 V1 M3|
  42. My problem:

  44. Once I have the third node's port set up and run RA it won't
  45. initialize the modem.  The modem panel lights up the send and
  46. receive data indicators as it gets the initialization
  47. instructions from RA but it just doesn't work.  I can't figure
  48. this one (probably something simple I am missing.  Any help in
  49. resolving these problems would be appreciated (note, I am not
  50. interested in switching BBS software right now)
  51. I seem to be able to set Auto Answer on or off via the
  52. initialization which makes me think that RA isn't getting the 
  53. "modem ready" command or it isn't being sent to RA.
