  12. I got uucico to dial a system for me, after realizing that SLS comes with
  13. sample Systems, Devices, and Permissions files, but no sample Dialer file.
  14. Now, uucico dials, exchanges some data w/ the system, meanwhile setting
  15. LCK files, then hangups w/o sending the files in /usr/spool/uucp that were
  16. put there by elm and uucp.

  18. I might be able to figure out where the problem is if I could turn on 
  19. debugging for uucico. I tried -x2, -X2, -x9, -X9, -x2>/usr/lib/uucp/debug
  20. produces a zero length file of that name.

  22. Could someone tell me, is the binary uucico dist w/ SLS have debugging
  23. disabled? If enabled, how can I turn it on?

  25. My Dialers file is so-
  26. supra =,-, "" \dATQ0V1E1\r\c OK\r \ATDT\D\r\c CONNECT
  27. As I said, uucico will dial for me.

  29. Systems entry is so-
  30. csn Any ACU 9600 PHONE_NUMBER "" \r\d\r name:--name: USER_NAME sword:
  31. PASSWORD annex: ruucp
  32. except this is all on one line. Using Kermit, I can call csn, walk through
  33. this chat script, and get the Shere=csn which precedes the uucp protocol.
  34. So why is this script failing?

  36. The main thing is how can I get uucico to spill its guts for me; how can I
  37. turn on debugging so I can see what is going wrong?
