  17. NOTE:  I am on vacation and away from my main system so this has taken
  18. a
  19. lot longer than intended to get out.  While I intend to make it weekly,
  20. till the end of January when I get off of vacation it will be eratic
  21. and
  22. I'll probably only get one or two revision's out.
  23.      Welcome to the Linux Hardware Compatibility List.  It is my hope
  24. that
  25. this will be of help to people and that it will do away with a lot of
  26. the
  27. will this work with my system questions.  I also hope that this will
  28. help
  29. people who want to buy a system to run Linux or are in the process of
  30. upgradeing their system and want to make sure that the hardware they buy
  31. is
  32. compatible with Linux (especially for item's such as SCSI controller's
  33. and
  34. CD-ROM's).
  35.   Unlike my Linux BBS List this will only be posted to c.o.l. and
  36. c.o.l.a.,
  37. this is to make it easier for me to post.  Besides both c.o.l. and
  38. c.o.l.a. are both gated to FidoNet.  For now at least I will attempt to
  39. post this list weekly, near the beginning of the week.
  40.      As this list is in it's infancy (conception is more like it), I
  41. need
  42. LOTS of input.  Both in the form of data for the List and suggestion's
  43. on
  44. how to make improvement's.  If you see something such as a hard drive in
  45. the
  46. wrong place please let me know!  You can reach me by sending E-Mail to

  48. healyzh@holonet.net .  I know I can't spell or punctuate so send any
  49. messages
  50. about such things to /dev/null.
  51.      If you are wondering about a specific piece of Hardware and you
  52. don't
  53. find it in this list all I can say is I don't know at this time but as
  54. soon
  55. as I find out it will be in the next list.  If you find out that it
  56. work's
  57. from some other source, i.e. a friend or trying it out, PLEASE let me
  58. know.
  59. Also even though a piece of equipment is on this system doesn't mean
  60. that I
  61. know how to get it to work with Linux, it is on this list because
  62. someone
  63. has told me that it works on THIER system.
  64.      As you can see I need LOTS and LOTS of input to make this list
  65. work!
