- 1. shutdown your system to single user mode.
- 2. /conf/patch -v /coherent VTVGA=0:c VTMONO=0:c
- 3. enable "console" and disable all devices like "color0", "color1"...
- and "mono0", "mono1"... in /etc/ttys.
- 4. sync and reboot

- I *really* would suggest to create a emergency boot disk before you do that.
- If you don't have a terminal connected to a serial port and you do something
- wrong you can't login anymore!
