- ( My apologies if this is a FAQ, or the wrong newsgroup, etc)
-
- Is anyone out there using Z-mail in an environment of Suns, Vaxen, and
- tty terminals?
-
-
- The reason I am asking is twofold:
-
- 1) Our department contains a mix of the above hardware, in addition to
- terminal emulation software on Mac and PC's (when users dial in from
- home).
-
- 2) It's hard to get folks to use a full-featured GUI point-and-click
- mailer on their workstations (e.g. Sun's Mailtool) and then have them
- switch gears (and mailers) when they dial in from home on a text-based
- terminal.
-
- [ OK, so it's THREEfold....]
-
- 3) Both UnixWorld and the Sun Observer think Z-mail is the best thing
- since the Smart Clapper(tm).
-
-
- So, will Z-mail really live up to all it's promises of
- interoperability and portablitily among GUI's and terminal types? Or
- are my users stuck with VMS mail on the Vax, Quickmail on the Mac,
- Mailtool and or MM on the Sun, etc ,etc, etc...
