- As has been pointed out by others, it doesn't, but - you aren't by
- chance putting the entire 'firstname.lastname@host.domain' in the LHS of
- the alias file, are you? That will typically only work with IDA
- sendmail, which takes special care to deal with such "non-local
- aliases". For others, you just put 'firstname.lastname' in the alias
- file, and make sure the .cf recognizes 'host.domain' as "local".

- Then there's the issue of getting sender addresses to be generated in
- the above form, of course, i.e. "reverse aliasing" - certainly doable
- with Sun's stock sendmail, but takes a bit of tinkering...
