- The second of these is a legal RFC-822 address [the full stop isn't
- part of the address], the "(guest)" is a comment and should be treated
- as white space. Following the general rule for robustness in RFC-1123:
- "Be liberal in what you accept, and conservative in what you send"
- the address should be accepted, but sending it is unwise.
