- Basically, for two reasons:

- 1) PostScript does not have any features that require reading the page
- framebuffer. You can write to the framebuffer all you want, but you
- can't read it. This is presumably for portability reasons.

- 2) Flood fill may give radically different results, depending on the
- resolution of the display device. Regions which are closed on a
- low-res device, such as a display screen, may be open on higher
- resolution laser printers, etc. Vice is also versa.
