  15. I would like to modify the appearance of a character in a Type 1 font (in
  16. this particular case, the lowercase Helvetica el "l").  Can this be done
  17. and, if so, can someone point me in the right direction?

  19. My first attempt was to copy the type 1 font into a new type 3 font, add
  20. a buildchar routine and redefine the drawing procedure for the character
  21. I wished to change but I cannot figure out a way to execute the
  22. proprietary drawing routines once they are in a Type 3 font.  If someone
  23. knows a way to do this, or another approach altogether, I would
  24. appreciate the help.
