- i once worked in an environment of ibms connected to an hpljiii operating
- in its native mode for an office of 6 other users. i told the boss to buy
- this pacific data postscript cartridge (though i would have prefered a
- printer whose native language was ps); he did and he found that his quattro
- pro files printed a lot faster when conerted to ps first.
-
- i also used TeX and converted dvi files to ps and downloaded them to the
- hpljiii in ps mode and it did work. the only problem was that everybody
- else worked the printer only in pcl mode and i always had to go around and
- notify everyone of my intention to tie up the printer since it is not able
- automatically to sense the format of the incoming document.
