- I am using Borland Pascal 7.0 with its protected mode IDE. I have
- encountered a problem when scrolling through text in the IDE editor
- window. The problem occurs when I continuosly hold down the up-arrow or
- down-arrow keys. I find that the characters "8" and "2" will get
- dropped in regions where the cursor has been.
-
- As you can see, this is quite annoying, and requires editing
- corrections to be made before you can compile. I was wondering whether
- it is a common problem. I have a Microsoft mouse and the driver is the
- one that came with Windows 3.1, so it is fairly recent.
-
- Another interesting quirk of BP 7.0 is that the block selection mode
- seems to be activated of its own accord when I am scrolling through
- a text file. This is also annoying, and sometimes it is difficult
- to switch off and resume the normal editing mode. Pressing the
- shift key on its own seems to make it easier to get back to the normal
- editing mode.
-
- I should mention that I have syntax highlighting active. As yet, I
- have not worked with it deactivated.
-
- Any suggestions as to how to fix these problems would be greatly
- appreciated.
-
- Thanks...
