- I was wondering if anyone knows of a good way to index a gopher tree,
- in such a way, that if a person searches for a string that leads to
- an object other than a document, the action specified by that object
- is "executed", just as if the user had chosen that object.
-
- A possible example (in an attempt to make what I'm trying to get across
- a little bit clearer) is for someone to search for the string, 'archie'.
- This could result in
- -----
- 1 Archie Document #A text document
- 2 Search Archie #A link to search archie
- -----
-
- If a user choses the first choice, they would see a document talking about
- archie. If they chose the second one, I would like for the link to be
- "executed" and the user allowed to enter their search pattern for archie,
- and go from there.
-
- I tried wais indexing the tree, but this leads to the second choice being
- displayed (The information on how to perform the connection) and not
- "executed."
-
- Thanks in advance for any information you can give.
- Dave

- P.S. My apologies if this has already been discussed.
