- I can agree with these comments... We have to be careful everytime when
- using or introducing old/new GIS terms. Also, GIS terminology is changing
- permanently based on new research and methodological developments.

- Some days (weeks) ago I mentioned an American firm (Data West Research
- Agency) which has advertised
-
- A Practitioner's Guide to GIS Terminology
- (A glossary of GIS terms)
-
- as a 460+ pp. reference book containing over 5500 definitions
- used by GIS user community. Unfortunately, only a POB address
- in FederalWay, WA was given. My question is:
- - does anybody know of this 1993 edition ?
- - do exist there any other earlier editions of that guide?
- - can somebody comment here on GIS-L the content, standard references etc.
- of this terminology book?
-
- At least, USGS has provided me with the very new "Manual of Federal
- Geographic Data Products" (January 1993)... its a very useful info
- source for GIShoppers...! Thanks to colleagues at USGS-NC Reston !
