- Hi, if u are trying to load an Avhrr image into arc-info ver 6.1, then the best
- method is to import the raw Avhrr image into Erdas software, and then process t
- the image.. This processed image is easily imported into Arc-Info. I have just
- completed loading an Avhrr(band 2)image into arc-info, and i had to undergo
- a lot of conversions. The following steps can be taken-
-
- 1. Import the image into Erdas by the "LDDATA" UTILITY. If u have the
- data on a floppy , select the load data from file command. choose the BIL forma
- and load the image as a 16 bit file with no headers. But u must know the correct
- number of rows and columns beforehand. Convert the loaded data into an Erdas
- LAN file.
- 2. After u have the LAN file, run BSTATS command in ERdas to cal the stats .
- 3. This image is easily imported into The IMAGE INTEGRATOR module in ARC_info
- 4. use arcplot module to start the session in A-info. select display 9999, if u
- are running on a workstation.
- 5. Select the imageview <filename> command.
- 6. The image is displayed in a window.
-
-
- 7. The image can be converted into a grid if desired,by the commands
- ERDASGRID or IMAGEGRID , in arc .
- This procedure, i think will work.
- let me know if u have any problems.
