  24.             In the US, these data are digitized by NOAA (National
  25.             Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) from surveys
  26.             of the 200 mile wide EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) that
  27.             follows our coasts.  The digitized data is, for most
  28.             the most part, available for a fee that approximates 
  29.             the cost of the mag tape it is distributed on.

  31.             In Australia, you would probably find your data most
  32.             quickly by polling the defense and the commerce agencies
  33.             of government.  If you do locate digitized Australian
  34.             bathymetric data, please post the source here.  I am 
  35.             trying to collect a list of complete addresses (and prices)
  36.             of sources for bathymetry.

  39. In fact, I will remind everyone in cig that I am working on a bathy 
  40. data source list, and would really appreciate it if you would post
  41. or mail me your suggestions and leads.  EEZ data should be abundant
  42. now in 1993, so if you encounter a mention of it in your research,
  43. please think of the list!
