- As Robin said, GEBCO is a good start for small scale vector bathymetry.
- You may also be interested in looking at raster data.
- "Digital Bathymetric Data Base - 5 minute grid" (DBDB5) is another
- good source. The data were compiled in the US by the Naval Ocean
- Research and Development Activities (NORDA) and the Naval Oceanographic
- Office (USNOO) with support from the Office of Naval Research. As the
- data is interpolated onto 5 min by 5 min grid, the scale changes from
- latitude to latitude. Again, the coverage is global. The cost is minimal.
- If you are interested in DBDB5, you should contact:
-
- Mr Francis L Marchant
- US Naval Oceanographic Office
- Stennis Space Centre
- Mississippi 39522-5001
- USA
- telephone: 601 688 4327
-
- We have been using both GEBCO and DBDB5 data for a while.
- It's fun to have them both on the same 3D window!
- Cheers
