  13. I am interested in getting some grasp on the actions behind the commands.
  14. I am looking for an explanation and evaluation of the various approaches which
  15.  have or could be used to address each of the major GIS operations.
  16. I would especially like to see this presented such that non-programmers could
  17.  appreciate it.  Any suggested references?
