  13.           I am working on a project for which I need to display a .BMP
  14. file.  I have a few questions, though.
  15.  
  16.           1.  Is .BMP the extension for bitmap?  If so, I have a rough
  17. understanding of the file format, but I lack information on detecting
  18. the size (hight+width) of a graphic, and when a new row of pixels is to
  19. begin.
  20.           2.  Could someone send me example code of how to read one in
  21. and display it to the screen?    (in C)
  22.  
  23.           3.  Is there a way to convert .gif files to .bmp?  If so, I
  24. would appreciate source code for that, also.
