  13. I have recently installed the Unofficial HP Emacs distribution on a HP
  14. 700 series machine running HP/UX 8.0.
  15.     I succeeded in compiling emacs on this system but am faced
  16. with a problem in using it in X.  The system uses HP's VUE X
  17. environment.  The problem is that the keyboard's backspace (delete) is
  18. mapped to ^H.  This means that while in a X window pressing the
  19. backspace key results in calling up the emacs help system.  Unlike
  20. most keyboards that I have used, there appears to be no delete or
  21. backspace key mapped to ^?.  
  22.     Is there a way in this distribution to map ^H to the normal
  23. backspace-delete while in X?  I understand that this is not an easy
  24. thing to deal with, but I have seen a similiar thing done on a Apollo
  25. system.
