- 1. This depends on the software you're using. Most fax software packages that I
- know of will convert text, tiff, etc. into a bitmap format that is then sent
- out. For instance, Quick Link II will convert PCL, tiff and various other
- formats to what they call "QFX" format.

- 2. Faxes are viewed in two ways: By the fax program itself or by any graphics
- program (e.g. paintbrush) after conversion to the proper format by the fax
- package.

- 3. Yes, there are fax/modem boards available that can detect what kind of call
- is incoming (voice/fax/modem). Look in the trade rags for these (e.g. Computer
- Shopper).
