- I used to load "recvfax" of the BitFax to get my computer to receive incoming
- fax. However, occasionally (I havn't figured out when) incoming calls are
- answered by the computer, which sends negotiating signals to the human
- caller. After a while, the dumb computer discovered that the caller is not
- a fax machine, and prints a line "not a fax call" on my computer, by which
- time the caller has gotten so frustrated and hanged up.
-
- At other times, the computer does not answer. And the phone functions
- perfectly.
-
- Can somebody help explain this mystery?
