  42. Ingres and Oracle do not currently exchange data.  They can be persuaded 
  43. to have a "behind the back" conversation tho by doing embedded sql work 
  44. and linking to both libraries (we have done this).

  46. Since you have had a trial copy of oracle in for evaluation, why don't 
  47. you get a trial copy of Ingres too?  Then you will have an equal basis 
  48. for comparison.  I make this recommendation with some confidence, since I 
  49. think you will choose Ingres in a side-by-side comparison - especially 
  50. when you look at the work that the DBA has to do in both cases.
