-
- Yes, but don't do it. Why not just create an empty database? The cost
- of this is very cheap, just a little disk space.
-
- The iidbdb is a database that is special to INGRES and has a very
- special purpose. It seems to me to be a big mistake to clutter it up
- with stuff of your own devising. There can be situations where the
- needs of the database containing the ABF application may conflict with
- the needs of the iidbdb. Since it's so easy to keep them separate, why
- not do it?
-
- This does not, of course, preclude you from _running_ an ABF or ESQL
- application against the iidbdb, but once again, I would advise strongly
- against it, unless it is merely an application that reports on the
- information that INGRES puts there. Put _your_ data in a database of
- your own creation.
