- I posted the original article about getting Ingres on our DEC 5000/Ultrix
- V4.2A. After many phone calls and long conversations, here's the scoop:
-
- Digital no longer distributes Ultrix/SQL. Even though I have a piece of
- paper which states Ultrix/SQL is in our license, I can not get the
- software from Digital. Ingres will not honor that license. My Ingres
- Rep told me that we would have to get a new Ingres license. So basically
- We've fallen into a loophole because we did not order the Ultrix/SQL
- "media and documentation" back when Digital still distributed it.
-
- Sigh.
-
- So, back to the original question....has anyone successfully ported
- the public domain Ingres to an Ultrix platform.
