  28. I posted the original article about getting Ingres on our DEC 5000/Ultrix
  29. V4.2A.  After many phone calls and long conversations, here's the scoop:

  31. Digital no longer distributes Ultrix/SQL.  Even though I have a piece of
  32. paper which states Ultrix/SQL is in our license, I can not get the
  33. software from Digital.  Ingres will not honor that license.  My Ingres
  34. Rep told me that we would have to get a new Ingres license.  So basically
  35. We've fallen into a loophole because we did not order the Ultrix/SQL
  36. "media and documentation" back when Digital still distributed it.

  40. So, back to the original question....has anyone successfully ported 
  41. the public domain Ingres to an Ultrix platform.
