- My understanding is that SunOS and Solaris are equivalent. Solaris is a
- SunOs implementation to run on (amongst other things) the Intel 80386 and
- 80486 processors. The whole idea being that you can run ANY Sun software
- on your 486 PC, including INGRES for SunOS. You might ask the
- distributors of Solaris about their compatibility with SunOS. If their
- answer is " 100 %" then INGRES should not be a problem.
