  28.     There are a number of products that do this, SequelLink is one
  29.     which I have looked at, the other is QELIB from Pioneer Software
  30.     and SQL Retriever from Visionware. However at present these are
  31.     only available for use with the DOS/W3 version of W4GL. In truth
  32.     they are simply DLLs that can be called from any Windows 3 
  33.     application, and hence from W4GL/DOS. Several versions are
  34.     available for different backend servers, including Dbase!
  35.  
  36.     All the DLL procedures need to be defined to W4GL and they arn't
  37.     really that well integrated, although SequelLink is perhaps the
  38.     best.

  40.     You still need an Ingres server for development though.

  42.     I am also not sure of the Ingres support issues when you call
  43.     third party routines. I had quite a few problems with General
  44.     Protection violations, there is little help with parameter
  45.     validation passed to external routines.

  47.     I think SequeLink may provide a set of unix callable routines
  48.     in the future.
