  11. Why do databases support pre-compilers ahead of low-level call interfaces?  They
  12. must all have call interfaces to enable their pre-compilers and they are much
  13. more flexible.  It is very difficult (impossible?) to establish a general
  14. database interface using pre-compilers.  Anyone tried it?
