- Good morning.
- I am currently embroiled in a project involving MPEG I encoding.
- We are attempting at this time to establish a feasible method of
- achieving our goals "off-line" but the prospects of theoretically
- be able to encode in realtime loom temptingly in the immediate future.
- Does anyone know what it will take to do realtime MPEG audio encoding,
- layer I? Layers II or III?
- Can we reasonably do this with a DSP card in a PC? Two cards, maybe?
- Or even a hopped up PC by itself?
- As long as I'm asking, does anyone have any horsepower estimates for what
- it would take to accomplish the video encoding in realtime?
-
- E-mail responses would be much appreciated by
- broy@umrgec.eec.umr.edu
-
- Thank you.
