- There exist TCP/IP protocols for dial line operation, namely SLIP
- and PPP. So, since TCP/IP higher layer functions like Telnet and
- FTP are client/sever, then I'd say any client/server application
- using TCP/IP (eg. TCP) transport could operate over a dial connection
