  24. There is uupc and FernMail, though the last version of FernMail I
  25. received was mail only.  The author stated a STRONG desire to put news
  26. into FernMail (FernNews? :-)  I recommend uupc over mac/gnuucp.

  28. I use both, and am very happy with them - both work on my Apple Lisa II
  29. with System 6.0.2 -- unlike those other slobs who insist on the
  30. Communications Toolbox.

  32. Mac/gnuucp also works on the Lisa; however, the Hypertalk reader that
  33. comes with (?) mac/gnuucp does not work well on the Lisa, and has a
  34. few problems in any case.

  36. For those who want to know: I ocassionaly will link my Lisa to my
  37. '386 and use a null modem connection between ruth.uucp (386) and
  38. naomi.uucp (Lisa) with mac/gnuucp.  The '386 will log into the Lisa -
  39. this way I can let the '386 run on auto-pilot and leave the Lisa up
  40. for a connection on demand.  Neat stuff...
