- | There is a MAC port of GNUUCP, and a (supposedly) good news reader called
- | fernmail. Haven't seen it work, but you may want to look into it.
-
- There is uupc and FernMail, though the last version of FernMail I
- received was mail only. The author stated a STRONG desire to put news
- into FernMail (FernNews? :-) I recommend uupc over mac/gnuucp.
-
- I use both, and am very happy with them - both work on my Apple Lisa II
- with System 6.0.2 -- unlike those other slobs who insist on the
- Communications Toolbox.
-
- Mac/gnuucp also works on the Lisa; however, the Hypertalk reader that
- comes with (?) mac/gnuucp does not work well on the Lisa, and has a
- few problems in any case.
-
- For those who want to know: I ocassionaly will link my Lisa to my
- '386 and use a null modem connection between ruth.uucp (386) and
- naomi.uucp (Lisa) with mac/gnuucp. The '386 will log into the Lisa -
- this way I can let the '386 run on auto-pilot and leave the Lisa up
- for a connection on demand. Neat stuff...
