- OK, here goes. Both Helldiver and NSCU are bits of culprits here.
- Helldiver does screw up a little on non-numeric filenames. NSCU on
- the other hand does strange things with moving articles, etc, so
- what I suspect (I need to confirm this myself) is that NSCU is updating
- the timestamp on some of the article files and Helldiver goes "hey,
- this article is newer than the timestamp on the NEWSRC file and it
- has a small number - that must mean that the group has expired and
- started filling up again - so I'll just rewind to the start of the
- group". *sigh* I put this code into Helldiver to compensate for
- Waffle's lack of an ACTIVE file, and it appears to be back-firing
- when people are running NSCU.
