  21. OK, here goes.  Both Helldiver and NSCU are bits of culprits here.
  22. Helldiver does screw up a little on non-numeric filenames.  NSCU on
  23. the other hand does strange things with moving articles, etc, so
  24. what I suspect (I need to confirm this myself) is that NSCU is updating
  25. the timestamp on some of the article files and Helldiver goes "hey,
  26. this article is newer than the timestamp on the NEWSRC file and it
  27. has a small number - that must mean that the group has expired and
  28. started filling up again - so I'll just rewind to the start of the
  29. group".  *sigh*  I put this code into Helldiver to compensate for
  30. Waffle's lack of an ACTIVE file, and it appears to be back-firing
  31. when people are running NSCU.
