- We will either short the lines or place a ~600 ohm resistor across
- the line. The worst that can happen is that an alarm will go off
- at the telco that there MIGHT be a problem on a line/trunk. They'll
- then kill it and when we un-short the line, there's no dialtone. A
- call to repair and everything's back to normal. It sometimes takes
- a few days to have the line taken out of service.
