- I'm running waffle 1.65 & have a maxann 9600bps modem. I located a
- free news feed this week(!) & can't get my machine to answer the phone
- correctly at 2400 bps. It's been working fine at 9600 although waffle
- thinks everyone is calling at 300bps. I haven't really cared about it
- until now.
-
- My init string was: AT H0 M0 S0=0 V1 E2 X0 &J0
- I changed it to: : AT H0 M0 S0=0 V1 E2 X1 &J0
-
- Trying to get waffle to report the line speed. I'm using "answer:
- ata", have a fossil & have locked the port speed to 9600 (or so I
- think). What happens no is that when I call I get a carrier, but
- before the CONNECT, the line is dropped. I'm not by the machine now &
- can't call it back since it won't answer the phone. :-(
-
- Any advice is appreciated. The modem I use to call to check whether
- the config works is 30 minutes away. . .
-
- I've also had difficulty getting waffle to compile correctly with
- Borland C 2.0. It compiles fine, but the IO stuff is screwy. It
- appears that there's a problem with strings not being \0 terminated
- correctly. Any ideas? I'd like to get it to compile so that I can
- disable ALT-T on the 18 local nodes I'm running for middle schoolers.
- So far, no one has realized that they can do that. It won't solve all
- my security problems, but it'd be a start. THen I can see about
- minimally encrypting the passwords. ..
