  24. WHAT'S NEW
  25.  
  26.      Version 100 of the VIRUSCAN series adds detection of 195 new
  27. viruses, bringing the total number of known viruses to 1,060, or
  28. counting variants, 1,756.
  29.  
  30.      Beginning with this release, we are using a new method for
  31. providing foreign language support.  The VIRUSCAN, NETSCAN, and
  32. CLEAN-UP programs now check for a foreign language file named
  33. MCAFEE.MSG in the same directory as the program and then display
  34. messages in that language instead of English.  Since foreign
  35. language support is now be handled outside of the programs, the
  36. /FR (French) and /SP (Spanish) language switches have been removed.
  37.  
  38.      Foreign language files are currently available in Bulgarian,
  39. Dutch, Finnish, French (European), German (Swiss), and Spanish
  40. (Latin America).  Other languages will be added as time and demand
  41. permits.

  43.      Please note that there have been two earlier releases of Version
  44. 100, Version 9.1V100 and Version 9.11V100 for the VIRUSCAN, NETSCAN
  45. and CLEAN-UP programs, and 5.2V100 for VSHIELD.  These versions were
  46. not released on the Internet.
  47.  
  48.      The OS/2 versions of VIRUSCAN, NETSCAN, and CLEAN-UP Version 100
  49. are still under testing and should be ready in a week or two.

  51.      Congratulations to William S. McKiernan, president and COO of
  52. McAfee Associates, and his wife on the birth of, heh, twins.  Bill
  53. will no doubt be getting a lot less sleep in forthcoming months...
