  19. before your kind uploads.  (I also email the former on request by
  20. email).  Taking a look before uploading, rather that me having to
  21. send the instructions to you afterwards anyway, will make everyone's
  22. life slightly more convenient.

  24. The reason for the request is that we have recently had an
  25. increasing number of non-conforming uploads and announcements.  It
  26. is a waste of your own time as well as ours.  The non-conforming
  27. uploads may end up discarded, or those uploads, which are
  28. particularly for my attention, may end up at the very tail end of
  29. the month(s) long backlog.  
  30.  
  31. But don't be discouraged.  We try not to be overly strict.  Common
  32. sense still prevails. 
  33.  
  34.  A1: A summary for experienced users (from /pc/UPLOAD.INF):
  35.  - Quality software solicited.
  36.  - Use .zip (1.10, not 1.93A, nor 2.04C yet).
  37.  - Use version numbers in file names if possible.
  38.  - If yours, include documentation, or make self-documenting.
  39.  - FTP to /pc/incoming (MsDos files).
  40.  - Notify _*BOTH*_ ts@uwasa.fi and hv@uwasa.fi using a Carbon copy.
  41.  - Your message will be used as such for announcing on the news.
  42.  - Your message's right margin no further than at column 72.
  43.  - Don't use tabs.
  44.  - Ensure to use a descriptive subject header in your email to us!
  45.  - English only (goes both for the programs and your announcement).
  46.  - Emphasis on MsDos utilities, not all subject categories carried.
  47.  - If made with Unix zip, still use MsDos eolns for embedded text files.
  48.  - If not yours, check that it is distributable, ie PD or shareware.
  49.  - Please be patient. Our queue can be long. Weeks at worst.
  50.  - Please also see /pc/UPTEXT.INF for your announcement outline.
