  17. I wouldn't say that it's orthogonal.  Orthogonal implies not only that one
  18. could have goals and knowledge without being conscious, but also that one
  19. could be conscious without having goals and knowledge.  Do you assert this
  20. latter proposition?  I think it would describe an intelligence quite
  21. different from our own, if it were even possible.

  24. not a sufficient, requirement for consciousness.
