  12. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice on the following
  13. tow areas:
  14. 1) are there any organisations out there that would be interested in
  15. funding me in a PhD - I don't know if there would be any interest abroad
  16. but I thaught it would be best to cast my net as wide as possible
  17. 2) universities which are intereseted in GA research.  This must probably
  18. exclude USA (I'd not mind going to the US at all, it's just too late
  19. to apply there now, I believe...).  Universities in the EC (excluding the
  20. UK) may be a good place, because then I may be able to get funding from 
  21. EC gerant giving bodies.

  23. I'm particularly interested in applying GAs to various machine learning
  24. problems - tho not so much NNs since that's been (as far as I know) 
  25. one of the 'flavours of the month' with the application of GAs
  26.  
  27. This is just a tentative initial enquiry - and the first point is
  28. slightly more important (except wrt the EC bit) since I know of
  29. some universities here in the UK which would be appropriate, it's the
  30. funding that's the problem.
