  17.   Al parecer el tata Mathey y sus boys han estado haciendo sus tareas,
  18. porque por lo menos la navy Gringa les agarro su poco de respeto. 5 a 1
  19. con F-5s en contra de F-14s no es una victoria moral Chilena, es una
  20. victoria a secas. Vean el e-mail adjunto.

  22.   Me voy a permitir un bravo para los pilotos Chilenitos de los F-5s.

  24.   Por otro lado, dado que estamos hablando de armas y esas cosas, alguien
  25. sabe que ha pasado con los Hawker Hunter de Antofagasta. Esos aviones
  26. ya estan mas que reviejos y cayendose a pedazos, asi que los van a
  27. reemplazar. El rumor era que los candidatos eran: Mig-29, F-16, Mirage
  28. F-1C y A-7. Segun dicen el Mig-29 fue descartado por tener una vida
  29. util muy baja y el F-16 por ser muy caro. Quedan el F-1C que tiene la
  30. ventaja por usar el mismo motor que los Mirage-50C (el Atar) lo que
  31. disminuye el problema logistico y los costos de operacion, y el A-7
  32. tiene ventaja por ser praticamente regalado por los Gringos y tener una
  33. capacidad de bombardeo y alcance bastante notables. Esta compra se hace
  34. un tanto necesaria, dada la reciente compra por parte de nuestros
  35. hermanos transandinos de 56 Skyhawk A-4.

  37.   Interesantemente, en Chile nadie le ha estado dando mucha bola al tema,
  38. lo que es interesante si uno compara dicha apatia con las discusiones
  39. publicas en Alemania, Suiza y Finlandia por la compra de nuevos
  40. caza-bombarderos (EFA y F-18 respectivamente).

  42.   Por ultimo, en El Mercurio Internacional de la semana antepasada, se
  43. dice que el Ministro de defensa Malayo estuvo en Chile con el proposito
  44. de comprar un monton de juguetitos (visito FAMAE, ASMAR y ENAER),
  45. incluyendo "submarinos".

  47.   Ahora bien, Chile tiene 4 submarinos, 2 viejos Oberon que acaban de ser
  48. reacondicionados por ASMAR/SISDEF y dos 206 relativamente nuevos. La
  49. marina siempre ha dicho que necesitan 6 u 8 submarinos, y se ha
  50. rumoreado la fabricacion en Chile de dichas naves desde hace ya mucho
  51. tiempo. Al parecer el proyecto no se habia concretado por motivos de
  52. falta de plata, alias sin financiamiento. No obstante, el Ministro
  53. Rojas acaba de volver de Kiel (Alemania), donde estan los astilleros de
  54. submarinos alemanes.
