  50. I hope I'm not violating some unwritten etiquette by using the Brunonia
  51. list for a political plea, but this seems rather important.  Please
  52. read it and pass it along the grapevine to any other generally open-
  53. minded people and/or bulletin boards.  Thanks.

  55. CALL FOR SUPPORT FOR PRES. CLINTON'S PLAN TO LIFT MILITARY GAN BAN:

  57. The Pentagon "brass" and some loud voices in Congress are strongly
  58. resisting the President's plan to end discrimination against lesbians
  59. and gays in the armed services.  Calls from the public have been
  60. running *at least* 2 to 1 in favor of *keeping* the ban (can you
  61. smell the religious right at work??)  Please make a call to get it
  62. across that most Americans will *not* tolerate official bigotry or a
  63. military establishment that bucks civilian control.  Especially
  64. important to *flood* Colin Powell's office with calls and faxes.
