  18. There IS a difference between expressing ones opinions and the
  19. reasons behind the formation of those opinions and CLAIMS where
  20. there is evidence or proof.....  This is not a class or a courtroom...

  22. I recently made two points.....one that I do not think that what we
  23. have is a democracy..a gov't of the people, for the people, by the
  24. people...and I gave my reasons for that opinion.  Instead of trying to
  25. poke holes or demand proof, perhaps those who disagree should indicate
  26. why they think its a democracy.......  my second point was that the major
  27. media, by becoming part of a big corporation (as opposed to being purely
  28. in the business of journalism) had become ineffective and in the competition
  29. for ratings, circulation, dollars and so on had been compromised and no
  30. longer capable of being a "Watch dog" or doing investigative journalism...
  31. Again, if people disagree with that opinion, that's fine and if you or
  32. others feel that the media is unbiased and informative, then cite
  33. examples....for your reasons to disagree...

  35. This is a medium for expressing opinions and debating, not a courtroom..
  36. I may not be able to provide "warrants" to back my opinions but I
  37. don't believe you can provide the "Warrants" to indicate that ours is
  38. a functional democracy and that the means of information used by
  39. Americans in general are informative and adequate...
