  13. the world with six inch letters on the front page of the morning paper is
  14. quite another.  Will the press put the killings in Bosnia on the
  15. front and center burner?  Me thinks not, not until outside forces make it
  16. somehow the right thing to do.  The same was true concerning Somalia.
  17. Thousands were dying each day and the press yawned at the whole matter.
  18. They knew about it, but the gatekeepers decided (for reasons under
  19. discussion on this list) to knot bring it into the faces of the public
  20. so that they could not hlep but see it and help.
  21. You wanted some hard facts.  There they are. You brought up Bosnia and
  22. I Somalia.

  24. Sure, it is not not true that the press manipulates everything.  There are
  25. however some very severe issues which are "intentionally" played down.
