- In my lexicon, a pinafore is a sort of overgrown apron: One puts it on
- over a complete dress (or, less often, over a blouse-and-skirt).

- A jumper is a more substantial overdress: one wears it over a blouse or
- sweater. some are designed (with appropriately sized armholes) so they
- may also be worn without a blouse or sweater.

- "pullover". Although it may be longish, it's considered the top part
- of one's clothes, and calls for pants, shorts, skirt, or equiv.
